Deciding which vehicle is right for you is so personal to your needs and lifestyle. In Our Van Story, we recommended borrowing or renting a van to “try before you buy.” In addition to the ideas we shared, there are also Expos you might want to consider attending. Regardless of which show you choose, remember your walking shoes and sunscreen!
Adventure Van Expo
If you are certain that you would like a van, the Adventure Van Expo is the go-to venue to see multiple vans side-by-side. They have 12 shows during the 2024 summer where you can check out production builds, custom designs, and used vehicles for sale.

In addition, food & beverages are on site for purchase and camping is available. At the time of publishing this blog, enter: 10OFFCAMPING and receive 10% of the total cost, including fees.
Tickets are $10 a person and per vehicle parking is additional. Tickets are good for both days. Currently, there are FREE admission tickets to some shows and discounted parking, no promo code needed.
The Adventure Van Expo occurs on Saturdays and Sundays. We recommend allowing yourself 6+ hours to see everything.
Overland Expo
If you are wanting to see other overlanding vehicles including vans, then the Overland Expo is the expo for you. Overland Expo is a trade show that brings together camping vehicle and motorcycle equipment in one place. In addition to the 300+ exhibitors, they offer 175+ classes taught by the leading experts. There are 4 shows throughout the summer.

In addition to seeing adventure vehicles all weekend, food & beverages are on site for purchase and camping is also available. Currently there are no promo codes available.
Overland Expos occur on Fridays-Sundays. It is almost impossible to see everything in one day, so plan for two. Depending upon which Expo you choose, single day passes are available for $25 -$30 and a weekend pass is $80-$85. Parking is included in admission price.
Dealerships & RV Shows
There is no one size fits all for outdoor explorers. At Calico Van, we focus on vans and van products but there are other options. In addition to the two expos we mentioned above, you can visit your local RV dealership or search for RV shows in your area. Both options will have vans (class B), larger motorhomes (class A), midsize motorhomes (class C), travel trailers, fifth wheelers and toy haulers for you to see in person.
